  • Natural shine

I currently use GC Vinyl/Rubber on the dash of the cars I detail. However I have been looking for something that does not have quite as much glossiness (is that a word?), so I thought about trying Natural Shine. However, I just wanted to ask a few questions before I bought it. How does the smell compare of Natural Shine to GC? Everyone always comments how clean their vehicle smells after I use the GC. Also, how long does Natural Shine last compare to GC? Thanks in advance!

    Re: Natural shine

Well, I have not used the GC product, but I can tell you about Natural Shine.

Natural Shine is very glossy on dark surfaces. It looks pretty good on lighter colors.

Here is a comparison test I did a while back:

You might want to try #40 if you are looking for a low key shine. I love that stuff!!!

      Re: Natural shine

I have used all three products. So far I like #40 as my product of choice.

I think natural shine will glow if you put too much of it.
I laid some over my dash board it is not really that glossy, i think the saying is "less is more".

Natural Shine seemed fine when I used it.. smelled ok, looked ok on tan dash/trim. I wiped off excess after a few minutes, and everything looked ok to me.

I usualy use Nxt on a dark gray interior, so it was less gloss than I am used to at any rate. But if you are in a business, buying something like #40 in bulk would make good sense as well.

Ive always used Natural shine and I love it. The more you put on, the more shine you will get. Love the smell after putting it on.

Ive never used #40 nor GC b/c Ive never had anything against Natural, plus I already have WAY to many products.

              Re: Natural shine

I just did a comparison this past weekend using the GC Vinyl/Rubber and Natural Shine on the black plastic "honeycomb" grill on my Mustang. I put GC on the left half and NS on the right, and NS was definitely less glossy. I preferred the glossier look on the grill, so I went over the right side also with the GC. But since you are looking for less glossiness (and yes, I think that is a word but I'm not sure lol) I think NS would be perfect. I love NS on the dash because of it's being less glossy. It's nice too that you can increase the gloss of NS by putting on a second coat if you end up wanting that for some application. As far as the smell goes, I have to say that while I can see why people say GC has a "clean" smell, I feel that NS has a more "pleasant" smell, and I actually prefer the NS smell, especially on the interior where you are more "closed in." =)
