Re: #7 topped with ColorX
When you apply a wax over a polish, the wax will not remove the polish. It is preferable that the wax not have many abrassives.
For your method:
Does your paint have some defects that make ColorX necessary? If so, I would do one coat of ColorX, one coat of #7, and follow that up with another coat of ColorX.Chris

Re: #7 topped with ColorX
IMHO I think topping #7 with Colorx will just take off the #7. Here is a modified version of what PorscheGuy997 is trying to say.
1. 1 coat of Colorx (or any other cleaner or cleaner wax for that matter)
2. 1 coat of #7
3. 1 coat of your favorite wax like #26, #21 or 16.
But that is just my opinion and that is what I would do.SYDSTER

Colour-X is still a good product to use as its a one-stop-shop type of deal.
cleaner/wax in one. know what i mean.
but why not go the longer route if you have time and are willing.
wash
clay
dc1
#7
wax of your choice x 2
you can still do
wash
clay
colour-x
NXT x 2
the second works well and looks awesome as well.
its all personal perference and what works best on YOUR CAR'S FINISH!!!

Re: #7 topped with ColorX
Ok I just finished completely washing and drying the car. Now I have a clay kit, but I want to go with what you guys are saying...use Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner step 1, then go to #7, and then NXT. The only thing I need to get is the cleaner and NXT. So I guess I need to run to Autozone real quick... was there last night. How often do you guys do this full process?

Re: #7 topped with ColorX
Meguiar's cleaners and polishes will not "gain" performance by leaving them dry on the surface of the vehicle. The cleaners and polishes are actually easier to remove from the surface before they have dried anyway. Also, you should check out the 'information station' and read up on wax and when to remove it.
I'll give you a quickie for now: Use the swipe test...apply the wax as evenly as possible and wait some time before conducting the test. Now, take a clean finger and wipe the surface, if there is streaking or some sense of residual wax being left behind then wait some more. Repeat this step until you are easily able to swipe without residual wax. Now, remove the rest of the wax and enjoy the shine and beauty that Meguiar's products and knowledge can bring to your car.2015 Fiat 500 Abarth.
