I try not to over analyze this procedure. The panel tells me which method to use.

You know... after rethinking, this is more the case. Depending on the shape, curves bends and so on.

I use a PC but when I use to work by hand it was option 2.

i just wanted to know what people like to use. I never said any thing about a cretin style imparting scratches, like i said it is personal preference. I hate when i try to see what people like to use and people end up saying stuff that gives me a hard time, i just want to know what YOU use, thank you.

I never said any thing about a cretin style imparting scratches, like i said it is personal preference. I hate when i try to see what people like to use and people end up saying stuff that gives me a hard time, i just want to know what YOU use, thank you.

G-100 for as much as possible.
Circular motion when I'm hand-applying a product (like paste wax).
Side-to-side when working with a product like ScratchX (working across the scratch).

I think Megiuar's says the application shouldn't matter, because any product should ultimately be removing scratches, not imparting them. Except ScratchX of course, which specifically works best by working back and forth across the scratch.

Beyond that, the cirular motion just seems more comfortable to my muscles if/when I apply anything by hand.

I was just curious, for those of you that work by hand what method do you guys use to polish, paint clean, remove scratches and wax? Do you use the overlapping circular motion or a side to side motion or both?
