So give those a read over. Any info, pics, etc you can share about your car, goals for the car, time available, etc can all help with product choice, both for your research and any recommendations we make.
Dont get too freaked out by the large number of products. There are a lot of products to cover every situation, rather than only one product that must fit every situation. So you might need a little time to get familiar with everything but no big deal.
I start on Saturday afternoon. My very first time I have ever waxed a car before. I began by washing it and hand dried car. I clayed it with the detail spray and was amazed at all the junk that the clay removed. I used both bars in my kit to complete job. I washed it good a second time and again hand dried. I then used the paint cleaner and followed it with a coat of polish. I only used one coat of polish, I was considering on two but stopped after the first. I then switched to the liquid NXT and have done two coats so far. I am pleased with the results. The paint I thought was beautiful before I started, but what a huge difference. I believe I am going to do one more coat tomorrow and wrap it up with three coats. My question is there anything else I can do after three coats of wax. I have the spray NXT wax and the Quick detail spay and was wondering if I should top the third coat with anything else. I am so happy with the results of Meguiars. I will post pictures once the sun returns. I have waxed my Shelby in my garage and had my son follow me with my wife's hairdryer. HA! HA!
The spray wax can be used after future washings to bring back that fresh waxed look. Takes a little getting used to, but once you get the technique, it can go really fast. It isnt meant to be applied like a regular wax, just a skim coat.
the detailer can be used after washing if you wanted to get a fresh shine at least, and can even be used while doing your final wipe around drying. However it is also important for removing bird droppings, berry, etc, etc.. before they can stain or etch your paint.
With the DA, things can get changed up a little. You still want to follow the same process, wash-clay-clean-polish-wax, but with different products, it will look a little different. Here are two links for the DA use....
Basicaly, #80 Speed Glaze is your main go-to product, and it is a cleaner/polish, so it covers both steps in one, making a seperate step with a pure polish optional.
Some of the same products could be used, but generaly speaking, the Consumer Line products are meant for hand use, and the Professional products are meant for machine use, and you will tend to get best results when using the products that way.
Okay sounds good. I am a mobile detailer and would like to bring Meguiars in as my arsenal. I have seen and heard alot of good things about Meguiars. Where does the scratchX and things like that come into play?
ScratchX is a stonger paint cleaner to use by hand to remove mild swirls and scratches, as a couple of the links up in my first post show. Even as a molbile detailer working by machine, you would want some of that on hand to reach the places that a G-100 cant.
