MPPP has anti-static properties with its Mira Benz bonding system. It uses cationic bonds, the strongest of all chemical bonds. Unfortunately, due to VOC regulations, it is no longer manufactured.

Dust and dirt in the air have their own static charge, so it doesn't matter what you put on the car, it won't last and it won't change the static charge already present in the dust in the air.

It's a great idea, people really want to believe products can repel contaminants and therefor some companies market to this mindset.

Just a thought on the subject. This one old guy I used to know had a wire hanging down from his frame of his car that would touch the ground when he was parked. He said it grounded his car so the dust would not stick. I never did try it. Wonder if there is any truth to that.

I thought that was just grounding so you didn't get an static shock from the car. I doubt it would do anything to repel dust.

Thats what I was thinking... I know some of those little 4 wheel personal scooters have them, the 'Hoveround' type things.

They need to hand out ground wires at car shows...They put cars on carpets and wow you get shocked your hair stands up . I think its the rubbing that causes static dust what I do is take those dryer sheets and just hold it above where I feel static not touching the car and it goes away. my mom gave me that idea because she used dryer sheets on new blinds to keep them static free.

It is true that nothing will totally prevent dust from landing on your paint. But there are at least small differences in the amount of dust a product attracts. I noticed that MPPP attracts less dust than other LSPs.

This very topic came up at a recent Open Garage session. I don't recall who mentioned it as an anti-static device, but I had commented on all the fine dust on my car after driving almost 400 miles to Prescott, Arizona. He said that such a wire affixed to my car would have at least greatly minimized the problem. I'm still skeptical, but hey, it would be a cheap test and certainly couldn't hurt anything. I'm still not sure how I'd keep the wire in contact with the ground at 80+mph, and I'm not slowing down for a trip that long!!!

Well you start with a 20 ft. wire and by the time your there it will be barely touching the ground. lol lol.
