Which Degreaser

Hi:

Have been using Extra for general exterior cleaning. I like Extra but looking for some thing that I can purchase in a larger size.


Which one of the below products from the detailer line has similar cleaning properties to Extra All Surface Cleaner?

Safe D-Greaser or Super Degreaser

Looks like Safe D-Greaser is the best choice but it is really difficult to tell from the product description.

What do you use the cleaner on mostly?

If it is for wheel wells, tires etc, then Meguiar's Safe D-Greaser (where the possibility that some might spray onto more sensitive areas or painted areas), would be the right choice.

Straight engine and frame cleaning, I would use the Super Degreaser.

But if you are using it as a general cleaner, then I suggest Meguiar's new All Purpose Cleaner. I have been using this as well as the new degreasers for a while now. The majority of the time, I use the APC as it does an amzing job of cleaning darn near everything!

Yep, what he said. I have the new APC(old one too) and it has cleaned some things that I wouldn't have expected it to.

Thanks for the info, just the information I was looking for.

Yes, I am looking for something to do tires, wheel wells, etc. Mainly exterior areas were car wash soap is just not strong enough to get the dirt off.

I have some APC coming but was planning to use it on interior surfaces only since the Meguiar's web site says.

"Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner is ideal for reconditioning all
interior surfaces. The superior foaming action gently lifts the dirt away while its unique blend of fabric softeners and optical brighteners enhance the look and feel of carpet, upholstery, vinyl and even leather."

Thought it would not be strong enough to get the dirty off.

As you suggested, I think the Safe D-Greaser is the product to try.

With APC and Safe D-Grease I should be able to clean all the areas of a vehicle.

Going to order some today.

What is your experience with Extra on the underhood rubber and plastic? The description says it cleans rubber and vinyl...but being a degreaser, how does it affect the petroleum-based materials?

my two favorite degreasers are castrol super clean and purple power.
