  • Dealer buff marks

Hi, new to the forums (and to car ownership!)

I've started taking care of my new car (07 Accord SE) with Meguiar's products, but this is a question about my parents' car

Their black 02 ES300 had a foot-long scratch, possibly keyed.. the dealership was nice enough to 'buff it out' at no charge'. Now the scratch is 90% gone but i see about 1.5 sq ft of buff swirls that are visible from pretty much any angle (not like swirls which normally reflect in sunlight). what should i take to it? scratchX or something? Maybe i'll try to get some pics of it.

I took it through a (professional) car wash, but it's still there. Not sure how to proceed.

    Thanks in advance!

They are called holograms, caused by a rotary buffer and i suggest you go about finishing the job. Assuming you dont have a PC using scratchx is your best bet. But a PC with #80 or #83 if necessary would be the best action..

Thanks dietoremain... No i don't have a pc at all... thinking of getting one, actually.

Are holograms what everyone means when they say WARNING a rotary buffer can damage your paint! if not used properly...

No, the damage can be much worse....
