  • Quik Detailer for Tires??

When one does not want to drag out the hose. but does want to quickly cleanup/dress the tires, is there a spray-and-walk or spray-wait-and-wipe product ... ie a quik detailer for tires????

I assume products like Quik Detailer (for paint) or Quik Detailer for Wheel are NOT suitable for tires...and I assume something Hot Shine Tire Spray is not a good idea on a dirty tire.

Hmmm... so is Hot Shine Tire Foam that product???

Well, assuming you were planning to use a QD spray for only slightly dirty tires, a tire spray like Hot Shine or Nxt will still make them look black, just will wear off faster. I have never had a tire turn muddy looking from spraying a dressing on some light dirt.

If it is actualy dirty, then a QD product woudlnt be for it anyway, though there is no reason a QD spray couldnt be wiped on to remove light dirt. It wont eat through the tire or anything. Just be sure ot use an old cloth, then apply a dressing afterward.

Theoretically you could use Hot Shine Tire Foam but it's supposed to be used on a tire that's been washed, at least it's going to work better on a tire that the loose dirt and dust has been previously rinsed off from the surface otherwise you'll be applying a cleaner and protectant all-in-one right onto the dirty tire.

Also the type of tire dressing you're currently using will be a factor, some are longer lasting and what this means is they're made to stay on the tire, so cleaning them off then becomes harder and sometimes messier.

What we've done in situations like this is to grab a tatty towel, that is a terry cloth towel that's clean, but not the kind you would use on paint, a tatty towel is a towel you save and keep around just for this kind of thing.

Take the towel and either wipe the tire while it's dry or spray on some tire dressing, hopefully the tire dressing you've been using, to either the tire or the towel and then use the towel to wipe the tire clean and in effect give the tire the just dressed look.

Not a perfect solution but it will accomplish the goal without doing a dedicated washing process.

      Hope this helps...

What I usually do for touch ups is get a tire cleaner spray it on a couple of times and wipe it clean. After that spray it with the tire dressing.

Using that towel/tire dressing process is certainly an option

Nest best is the suggested pre-step which uses a tire cleaner spray - makes perfect sense...... NXT Tire Cleaner (or All Purpose Cleaner) would, for example, be good choices. but are not available in Canada...so I guess I need to find a spray cleaner...or a some suitable cleaning liquid I can put in a spray bottle. Something that I dont need to buy 5 gallons of!

A third option might be using NXT Quik Interior Detailer as a cleaner, then dress.

          Perhaps Option 1 is easiest!
