  • nxt glass cleaner and the duo towel

    Hi all
    i need some advice
i use to use the nxt glass cleaner with a cheap micro fibre towel- its a bit small but it been fine.
but after reading in here i though i would get the duo towel that you use for glass cleaning for that extra shine.
now last week i started getting wiper judder on my windscreen.
i read up on the advice in here and clayed my windscreen, wasn't dirty as i had clayed it 2 months ago.
however using the duo towel is hard as i get a lot of resistance, its no better than before but i can't understand why its takes so much effect to wipe the windscreen, the cheap micro fibere was fine. even my standard mf towel that i use for detailing was fine.

i tried this on my wifes cars - same problem

to make matters worse i now have threads and loops coming out of the duo towel. it looks appaling and i am very disapointed in this product. i have most of the meguiars stuff, but this is just so bad, the worst waste of 40 dollars i have spent.

someone kindly tell me that this is a one off and there is some thing else wrong somewhere.

    regards

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. If it makes you feel any better, mine fell apart after two uses. I am pretty sure Meguiars quit making the towel for that reason. Give your local customer service a call, they will be able to help you out.

      Thanks for this
but I'm going relegate the towel to another such as the leather seats or interior cleaning. chalk it down to experience. it didn't help that meguirs don't sell it anymore, but here in malaysia they seem to be selling old stock as well.

I use the Micro Fiber Waffle Weave towels from the HouseHold section in walmart. You can get a two pack for around $3 or so. Ive gotten around 3packs now.. I use them for the windows, dash, even on the paint for a quick touch ups(Bird poo, gas, etc).

For the window, you may want to try some new wiper blade(I like rain-x) and some rain-x formula on the glass.. I never have any problems with them hopping or streaking.

I agree; mine left all sorts of lint and just didn't work well. But it's been the rare disappointment. The supreme shine microfiber towels are great, and I suspect they'd work fine for glass too!

            hi all
in a follow up to this situation, i got the wiper judders again when it rained.
once i got home i examine the windscreen and it had a lot of friction which didn't make sense as i had clayed it last week and washed and cleaned it yesterday, but it was no suprise i had wiper judder
out of sheer frustation i clean the glass with the nxt glass cleaner and the wipers as well which turn my cloth black !

i then polished the windscreen with the megs deep crystal polish and then followed up with QD to clean any excess (none) and a final wipe.
now it feels very smooth and i will see how it works tomorrow as it wil probably rain again.
question - was this the wrong approach escpially on tinted glass as i had not had any luck with any other approach .

              Put some wax on it.

I would always keep wax on mine before I used Rain-x.
