Paint 30 days old can i use 80 now ?

  • Paint 30 days old can i use 80 now ?

    got a new bumper and had it painted Jan 25th. The texture of the paint is gritty compared to the rest of the car and has a little haze to it. it it safe to use the g100 now with some 80 now ? thanks

    You could have used it from day 1 after repaint.
    Clay it then hit it with #80.

      Like Coupe stated, clay it first then use M80, you might want to tape-off any edges that the pad may glide over.

      Often times in a body shop you'll have dry spray, also called overspray drift onto your car. If the entire car was in the shop, you might want to carefully clay the entire car. Remember, body shops spray paint, this means the chances for overspray or dry spray are very good if your car is in or near a body shop. Happens all of the time.

      Afterwards, apply some wax. It's cured by now.

        Whole car wasnt in the shop. Thanks for the info mike and coupe. i will be doing this tomorrow.

          It takes 90-100 days for paint to totally "Cure"

          Sure it will feel hard and dry but its still releasing solvents and waxing will trap those solvent.
