A friend of mine just picked up used 02 Tacoma yesterday. It was bought from a dealership. Is it possible that it might need claying? He claims that the paint feels smooth but he also doesnt know my definition of "smooth"
You could always clay it no matter how the paint feels. Often times paint will feel very smooth, but after claying if you turn your clay bar over and inspect the surface of the clay you'll see contaminants the clay bar found and removed that you could not feel.

ok, thanks for the advice. It has been parked for over 4 months outside the dealership so I am sure it has been exposed to its fair share of the elements.
Clay it and call it good from there (well after a quality detail with other products). Just remember that clay will pick up everything we can't see or can't even feel. Plus the clay will help other products bond to the surfaces better and do their jobs better.
