If you use the scratchx product do yo have to remove it before you use a polish?

    Re: Detail ?

Yes, you would wipe the product off. Then you could apply your favorite polish (#7 may I suggest - looks great on bright colors) and follow it up with a wax or sealant.

How deep is the scratch? The standard rule is: if you can fit your fingernail into it, then your better off using touch up paint. If the scratch is minor and in the clear, Scratchx will do just fine.

ScratchX is not a product to be left on and allowed to dry as you would with a wax. ScratchX is a cleaner/polish and as such needs to be worked pretty aggressively into the paint and then wiped off before it dries. After that, if the offending scratch is gone you can just wax the area, or proceed with a full polishing of the car. All of Meguiar's polishes, whether cleaner polishes (M80, M83, DC1 etc) or pure polishes like #7, should never be allowed to dry on the finish.
