  • what went wrong w/ DC3?

Been reading MOL's threads for quite a while now, and your comments have been very useful, but havent seen one which can solve my problem...

I wash my car once a week (car shampoo and washmitt) and wax my car about once a month only using DC3. About 3 weeks ago, I waxed only the hood and trunk of my car. I let it dry and buffed it out w/ a microfiber towel, and was unusually hard to get the wax out. The hood & trunk shines great from a far, but when I run my fingers through them, i can feel a hell lot of bumps. I figured that the climate and temp of the wax was too cold during the time I applied it. The following week, tried waxing the rest of the car and everything went well. I did the hood and trunk again, and the same thing happened. What went wrong?

BTW, my paint has minor swirls, but is basically in excellent condition. What polish can your recommend with Honda's satin silver paint which can give the highest gloss, keep in im planning to do everything by hand.

If you have bunps, it sounds like you may need to clay, not a pure polish.

I agree with Murr.... sounds like there are some bonded contaminates on the hood and trunk. You are more likely to get the bonded contaminates on the horizontal surfaces of your vehicle and that is why you feel them on the hood/trunk and not the sides of your vehicle.

Like mentioned, you likely need to clay your car's paint, also anytime paint needs to be clayed, it probably needs to be cleaned with a paint cleaner like ScratchX or Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner to really get the paint clean, then your wax will bond better and thus last longer.
