    What should I use to polish a helmet shield or motorcycle windshield?

    My face shield has lost it's clearness over a couple of years. No deep scratches or anything, just hazing from wiping it off. Same thing with the windshields on my motorcycles.

    Any recommendations on which products to use for bringing back the clearness? PlastX or something else?

    mckeand13, the Plast-X would be a great choice for a clear plastic visor on a helmet. It will work to remove the minor blemishes, as well as improve the optical clarity at the same time. A great applicator would be our High Tech Applicator Pads. Then, for the removal use either our Supreme Shine Microfiber, or our Ultra Plush Super Terry.

    As an alternative to Plast-x you could always break it apart into two separate steps; #17 Clear Plastic Cleaner followed by #10 Clear Plastic Polish. Plast-X is similar, it just combines both of those steps in one bottle...

      Tried the plastic X today and had little success on my HD windshield!!

        Also do a search for PlastX in the Consumer Line forum and you should get quite a bit on info on it. Just did some reading on in myself last night

          If it is made of Lexan, you are going to have one heck of a time getting any deep defects out of it. I wasted a solid 6 hours on one and although it was a bit more clear, the deeper stuff didn't budge.

          The material does not lend itself well to polishing at all.

          Also, WARNING, some of those shields will have a protective clear UV coating, and polishing can damage or remove that coating.
