  • Got some New Products:)...But also got some questions:P

Well today I went to Canadian Tire (****-U-Tire) and I picked up the Meguiars Deep Crystal System (3 step system: Paint cleaner, Polishing, Waxing). I bought the Quick Detail as well because I plan on using the clay bar with the quick detailer and that will be the first thing I do to the car before following the 3 step system.

I was also looking at the NXT wax by Meguiars (wow sooo expensive..$29.99).

    Now my questions are...

I have an Acrylic Enamel Paint job (no clear coat) I have gotten the car "proffesionally" cut, then I recently cut it myself, I don't want to have anything to do with cutting my paint anymore!.

So with these products will they work fine for me on my type of paint?

Also I really want to try this Meguiars NXT wax. Now would I be able to replace the 3rd step of the 3 step product which is the wax part with the NXT?

I have Meguiars Polymer Sealant, is there any point in using it inbetween any of these steps or no?

    Thanks in Advance

    Kevin.

Sounds like a good plan to me. I used clay, Deep Crystal 1 & 2, then Gold Class liquid wax for a while and liked it just fine. I'm sure the NXT would make a great last step. I haven't tried it though, not sure it's $30 great (I'm in Canada too). The Deep Crystal stuff is really gentle and doesn't have any harsh abrasives in it...

I'm just gonna use the clay bar with quick detailer and then Deep Crystal 1&2 and then the polymer sealant.

        Sounds good?

Sounds good to me. That sealant is #20, right? Don't forget to post pics when you're done!

Yep it's #20 Polymer Sealant by Meguiars.

Also Cam, when I do the clay baring first then can I go through the other steps like right after another?

And another thing, can I put the #1&2 and Polymer Sealant on using an Applicator and going in a swirl motion?

You can do the other steps right after the clay barring. If you've got residue on the surface after claying, you can QD or wash again. I use QD for clay lube, so I just wipe each panel clean once it's clayed.

You can use the DC1, DC2, and #20 one after the other, but I believe the sealant requres 24 hours to cure before you can put any more layers on top of it. I've never used #20 before though, so I hope someone will correct me if that's not right...

Cure time might be 12 hrs for sealant.

Use different applicators for each product.

As far as technique as quoted from Mike (so far as I remember). Meguiar's believes if you do the proper surface prep and use high quality applicators and towels (mf and terry) that one can apply product in any manner. Some say back and forth. Some say small circles is ok. Sorry if I buthcered that.. Right now I prefer application by PC.. Just try out different methods and see what happens.

As for clay I've stuck with the following the direction the wind flows over the car. No big deal.
