You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

In the clay bar tubs there is brand new clay (White lid) and used clay (Blue lid). and the white box in the first picture is a small First aid kit with some alcohol swabs and some band aids.

You should change the requirements. say you are flying there, and have to bring supplies in the plane (carryon). you have to meet their insane requirements

Re: So you are going to the car show. What do you bring?

I go to a number of shows throughout the year and also do a number of runs and drives also.

I have a bra which I put on the car while traveling. It always comes off once I get there and in the case of a drive or run it does stay on the car. The longest run I went on was 4 days but it was off again when I got back. I also now have bras for the mirrors which will be for the same thing. I think it is much easier and quicker to put on and take off the bra than tape up and remove tape from the car.

My travel kit includes a lot of things but I also use something nobody has mentioned, a California Duster. I have used the same one for close to 5 years and it doesn't scratch the car. I used it on my 4 day trip and sometimes dusted the car multiple times a day as we traveled through Nevada and even on a dirt road. That combined with Quik Detailer and now Ultimate Quick detailer kept the car clean and looking good the entire trip without a wash. In fact, the car has not been washed in about 3 years.

I also carry NXT Tech wax, ScratchX, tire shine, curved foam applicator for the tire shine, a role of blue shop towels, about 6 terri cloth towels, a Supreme Shine MF, and several other MF towels, Stoner glass cleaner, Quick Interior cleaner (which I also use on some of my suspension parts and fender wells along with other plastic and metal parts in my engine bay) a lint roller for removing the smallest pieces of dirt from my black carpet in the car and trunk, PlastX, some brushes for getting out dust an also one that is stiffer if I need to clean carpet more, a small trial size of cleaner wax, foam round applicators, regular window cleaner in a small spray bottle used to clean other parts of the car, Wheel Wax and a toothbrush.

I have spent the entire day before preping my car once there for a show including jacking the car up, removing the wheels to clean them and the fender wells and wiping the entire car down with Quick Detailer. If something is a little more stuborn and doesn't come off with the UQD then I get out the wax and it usually is removed.

The car enver gets dirty enough to watch and it should be noted this car never drives in the rain and is always cleaned after every use. It is dusted with the CA duster and then the entire car has a walk through to find anything like bird droppings or bugs and they are removed. Then the car is put in the garage and the cover put over it so its ready for the next use. UQD is used on a terri cloth towel to clean the wheels and remove the brake dust without scratching and believe me, with polished aluminum lips I would know if they were getting scratched. You just have to turn the towel often and not use it for anything else. I also have the car cleaned before leaving for a show so the build up is minimal.

            Hope the info helps.

Re: So you are going to the car show. What do you bring?

I did a 70 Cuda 340 for a buddies father going to the Good-guys show here in Colorado. He's not a big car show guy but for whatever reason he really wanted to do well in this particular show. I prepped the car with #80, #9, #7, and finally two coats of #21. The car sat for a week before he went and he drove about 30 minutes on the highway to get there. All i sent him with was a bottle of Quick Detailer, Stoners IG and some microfibers. I told him to use the microfibers I gave him for the paint, and some older ones he had for the wheels. Finish with the glass cleaner and call it a day. He was a little leary considering the extent that he sees some go to the day of a show but went ahead with it. Long story short, he won best Mopar and was exstatic. Needless to say he is all about Meguiar's now. I have done 3 more of his cars since then and he goes through A LOT of QD now. It's kinda nice to see how a car guy for 30+ years can find something new to enjoy in the hobby with something so simple (QD). Last time I spoke with him he told me how much better the Quick Detailer makes his cars look when they are just dusty....he then told me how he used to just fill a bucket with straight water and wipe the cars down with that. Suddenly I understood where all the swirls on these rarely driven cars where coming from

something you could use now, which alot of us already probably know about is Optimum No Rinse Wash, that way the two buckets of water could completly wash your car..saves on water and from what I hear is an excellent car wash.

I work on the car a few days before the show, give it several coats of wax. Then I bring UQD, an interior detailer, wheel detailer (spray on a MF and wipe down the wheel), some MF's, and a car vac to get any dirt out of the mats.
