  • Finally, a tire dressing that doesn't sling all over the place!

Well, I've been searching high and low for a tire dressing that wouldn't sling all over my freshly cleaned vehicle. I've tried EVERYTHING! From different manufacture's products to Meguiars. I have a medium size plastic rubbermaid tub FULL of different dressings that would never work for me. They would always sling all over my paint the first time I drove my truck after cleaning.

Water Based Dressing kicks a$$!!! Doesn't last as long as some of the others, but I treat my tires everytime I wash anyway(about 1-2 times per week), so no big deal for me.

    That is all......carry on

Interesing that you've had so many problems. I've only had a tire dressing sling once or twice, and I put that down to applying too heavy and/or not wiping off the excess or letting it dry long enough before driving. And I've used all sorts of dressings on a variety of tires/vehicles.

Well, I guess a lot of factors come into place when it comes to dressings and tires.

Things that I've figured out, some cars/trucks have small mudd flaps that prevent the fling from getting onto the paint, and some tires don't protrude out past the body of the vehicle. My truck doesn't have the flaps, and the tires stick out past the body a little, not to mention that it has thousands of tiny ribs all thru the face of the tire. And those ribs hold a lot of excess product that I can never seem to get out. I know those ribs are the root of my problem, but I just don't have the time to spend hours on my tires getting the excess product out. The Water Based Dressing is a breeze to wipe on and wipe off the excess.

What about running a brush over the grooves then wipe with a cloth?

The tire design has a lot to do with it too! The rubber compound used on the sidewall has an effect. Serrated sidewalls can have a huge effect on slinging! When I had Goodyear Eagle GS tires on my TA, Endurance Tire Gel worked great. But when I had Eagle F1s with serrated designs on the sidewalls, it was terrible! Major sling and poor durability! Looked great for the few days it lasted though.
