Re: DISO - Dealer Installed Swirl Option - Brand New VW GLI

You need to ask the Service Manager to setup an appointment with the VW Factory Representative. At that point the three of you need to evaluate the situation and you need to stand firm on your demands. When all three of you are there, a decision will be made, there is no one else that they can point the finger at, either the dealer or VWOA will have to take some sort of responsibility. Chances of them replacing the vehicle are slim but that is where you need to stand your ground, once you feel that is not going to happen, you need to stand firm on you picking your own repair shop/detailer and them picking up the whole tab. Good Luck

VW of America is correct in that it is dealership's responsibility as it is dealership that messed it up after it was delivered to them from VW. However, manufacturers still have ways to "lean onto" dealerships where appropriate because if dealership makes that customer never buy VW again, it is VW that stands to lose much more than dealership long term wise.

You need meeting between you, dealership and VW regional rep. If dealership's managers are ignoring you go to the dealership's owner. If they still rebuff you your answer is legal system, whether small claims court or whatever is appropriate.

Mike Phillips is right on the target on how system should work. Unfortunately, system is corrupted and fight is often very hard.

I would contact VW again, this time ask to speak to a manager and explain your situation and the fact the dealer is doing nothing to fix the problem to your satisfaction and ask that they intervene in order to rectify the problem. If that fails then its legal action, go and see a lawyer and find out exactly what your rights are.

        Best of luck
