That reminds me, whatever happened to gurureports (aka The Wax Test). They haven't done anything lately with car wax?

All too often I see people posting on other forums about this wax or that wax, and I ask about how they are removing the swirls. Usually that is met with something along the lines of "well, I wash my car all the time so it's in good shape". Uh-huh. Unless a wax/sealant discussion is taking place on a detailing enthusiast forum most people don't think about all the prep work, they just want a wax that beads. That's it. Heck, I've even seen a guy claim that no self respecting professional detailer would ever use a machine of any kind on any car because such devices are harmful to the paint. You can't get through to a lot of these people, but some are willing to listen if you present things in a logical manner, and have something to back it up.

I have a BIL that think the same thing. Machine is bad for paint. He is a know it all person. He "detailed" his sons white truck. I can post pix later tonight, ( I snuck a few) but I can tell you the surface was very rough to the touch. Not very shiney.
And he bragged it took 3 days.

The right product and tecnique will give great results.

You guys use"machines" to buff out paint?????
