  • How to use a mist and wipe product?

How much mist and wipe product like Last Touch should I be applying. So far I'm thinking that I need to use a lot more product than I had thought. The first time I used it it worked great. Now I am noticing that I am putting in swirls. Should I be spraying it on heavy so it runs. I've been just kind of misting the entire surface. I'm using clean microfibers. I use the product when there is a few days of light dust or if I just ran thru a touchless wash. If nothing else, it gives more to practice my G100 on.

If you have any tips for mist and wipe products, I'll take those too.

    Thanks in advance!

Sorry if this is here somewhere, I've looked on and off for a few weeks. So if it is, please provide a link.

With a mist and wipe detailer you just want a light mist, I would say 2-3 sprays per panel. Now, with Last Touch.... a little goes a long ways, as you have probably figured out it is a very slick detailer! I have found if I apply too much, or apply it on a warm surface it will streak and it works best with a fairly fresh coat of wax so with LT I may only use 1-2 sprays on a panel.

FWIW - I have a similar problem with my Lighting, my 'swirls' move right to left on my truck, seem to be in straight lines rather than 'swirls'.... Now, I apply a QD'er in more of a circular motion and I wash moving my hand right to left. So, I think I have narrowed it to my washing process, I have been taking even more care when washing. Can you narrow it down in such a way?

Your SS has alot of paint to practice using your G100 on!

After I had posted and went offline last night I had forgot to mention I use the above process on a clean vehicle like socommatthews mentioned. If there is a light dust... I will use a Meguiars Car Duster first, then LT the the vehicle.

          gb387 & socommatthews thanks much!

I am thinking that I need to use my car duster first. I thought maybe I wasn't using enough product and the dust was marring the surface, but like you said, when I use too much it streaks. The last time I went thru a touchless wash it didn't leave marks. But I also used more product that time, so I wasn't sure if it was the lack of dust or more product. I think I am seeing here that it was the lack of dust.
