have always been meticulous when it comes to detailing my trucks. I use Meguiars car wash formula, soft lamb skin mitts, and 3 step clean-polish-wax system, with clay bar as needed. I had a '00 Ford 350 that looked flawless after 6 years.
I bought a new 2006 white Dodge 3500 about 3 months ago. I continued on just like I would with my Ford. The only thing I changed was that I switched to microfiber mitts(from Lambskin) and microfiber drying cloths(from cotton). My truck is washed once a week(sometimes twice). I was getting ready to clean, polish, and wax before the cold weather gets here and I noticed in the sun a ton of swirl marks/cobwebs in the paint. There are way more than there should be. (more than my old truck ever had) I am very confident in my practices and very careful not to contaminate my wash mitts. I tried briefly using paint cleaner, polish, and scratch X and did not see any difference. My products that I used were probably a little old and had been stored in the heat of the garage over the summer.
First question is how can I go about getting them out. Can I do it by hand? Do i need a stronger cut? Do I need a body shop? (don't want to)
Second question is what else could be causing this pre-mature wear?
It's driving me crazy! Thanks for the help
