  • Removing a light scratch

I have a light scratch in my LX450 from the headlight to the taillight and need to figure out how to get it out. The vehicle is light gold and I have been thinking that scratch will work, but not sure any ideas?

I would assume you are removing it by hand!?!? So.... Check out this thread: How to remove a defect by hand with ScratchX

ScratchX is probably going to be your best bet by hand, if you can't remove it you may be able to minimize the look of the scratch. Once you are done apply a coat of wax to add protection.

Yes, I'll be removing it by hand. I talked to a local detail guy who said he would take it out for $20. Maybe I should just go that route. I usually like to take care of things on my own, but this might be an exception.

Do you know they guys work? Do you know what process he is going to use?

Just have to be careful, you don't want him to do more damage than is already there, ie lots o'swirls.

Plus there is no other feeling than doing it yourself. If you get it out yourself you will feel acomplished and have the courage to take on more bigger things. Thats how I felt after claying for the first time. I never trust other people touching my car, not even my main mechanic who has been a real good friend of my dads for over 15 years.
