  • Quick Revisit...

I searched the forum and have seen the question brought up several times...all without much results...thought I'd check into it again...

    anybody using the cyclo?
from what I read on autopia, it sounds like a pretty cool tool for the arsenal...

...Mike?...I know you were looking into trying one...?

    Hi 6318,

You know I've always wondered how well this tool works. I don't have one, but I'll ask if I can order one as I'm a big believer in only posting a comment or an opinion about a product if in fact you have tried the product yourself.

It seems our friend TOGWOT (did I spell that right?) caved, bought one, and is having trouble wiping the grin off his face...with his recommendation, I couldn't resist...

            Well, the Cyclo arrived.

I've only used it on two cars, so I have not formed an opinion, yet.

First impression? Wellmade, sturdy, 'old-school' look and feel.

Does everything that I'm accustomed to from the PC, but, at more than twice the price, I'm a little underwhelmed...

I agree with Aurorafouroh , the pads are of Little League quality, and tend to load up pretty fast.

I'm keeping an open mind, and will be looking for hints and tips...

Like this one (that I haven't tried yet.):

"Apply your favorite liquid wax or sealant with one head and remove it with the other. Place the wax on a white pad on one Cyclo head, and cover the other pad with a terry or MicroSuede bonnet. Angle the polisher so the bonnet follows the white pad across the surface. How about that!"

            We'll see how it goes...

I have one. It's nice. I could probably do without it, though. I'd give it up before the PC.

But it is useful. It has more power than the PC, works a larger area, and it is very stable when you put pressure on it. The PC gets a bit squirrly when I lean on it.

The Cyclo feels like it could take a bullet and keep working, and it's easy to use. Certainly a nice tool. But whether it's worth twice as much as a PC, well that's for the person ponying up the money to decide. I definitely would like it more with some better pads, though.
