I've just got myself a PC and want to get some fine swirls out of my car. Since I've already got some ScratchX is it safe to use this with a PC?

Re: Using ScratchX with a PC
Well, it is safe, but maybe not the best product to use. Espeacialy if you need a lot of it, it is going to cost a lot more to use tubes of ScratchX instead of just getting a bottle of #80.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: Using ScratchX with a PC
Yeah, #80 and even #83 are a good choice for big areas. ScratchX is more in line for spot fixing of scratches. I have two small sets of scratches on my frt. lft. fender that needs some ScratchX and my hand. I need to buy some one day.2016 Focus ST

Your question is a common one and especially because where you live our Professional Line is not readily available yet ScratchX is; so here's the Meguiar's Corporate recommendation for ScratchX.
ScratchX is formulated for use by hand, it contains a polymer that does not react well to heat and when heated it becomes gummy on the surface. It is the gummy characteristic that can make removing it, i.e. wiping-off the machine-applied ScratchX difficult and create the potential for you the user to instill toweling scratches in your effort to wipe it off. Thus at this time Meguiar's doesn't recommend applying ScratchX by machine.
That said, sometimes you have to use what's available to you if you want to get the job done. As far as the ability of ScratchX goes to remove swirls and scratches by machine it works great, it's just sometimes hard to wipe off.
So the best thing to do would be to go ahead and experiment on your car's paint type and machine clean a little area, about a foot squared and after buffing the ScratchX in thoroughly but not till it's drying up on you, then turn the polisher off and wipe off the remaining residue carefully with a soft, clean microfiber polishing cloth and inspect.
Base whether you continue with this process on your experience and results and post back here what you find out. Just to note we've have a number of forum members in the U.K. use ScratchX by machine with outstanding results. So the by hand recommendation is the norm but you have to keep in mind that paint care product will vary greatly on different paint systems in different environments and under different conditions, that's way we're always posting this,
"You don't know what you can do until you try"
That means you don't know if it's going to work and be easy to wipe off until you go out into your garage and work on your car.
Good luck and keep us posted on your results...

Re: Using ScratchX with a PC
Thanks for your replies, as Mike says on this side of the pond #80 isn't something I can just walk into a store and buy whereas ScratchX is easily available. Since I've only got to do an MR2 Roadster I'm hoping I won't need gallons of it so I'll **** it and see. If I wind up using a pack per panel or it becomes too difficult to wipe off I'll just have to cope with the hassle of mail order.
