  • Why no results???

    Hi all.
I'v been reading this forum for some time and found it very interesting with lots of details regarding detailing
Well, I have some problems with my Grand Vitara SUV, less than year old and keept in excelent condition. I have tried Klasse, AIO and I'v switched recently to Mequiars line of products, NXT Tech wax and GC. Problem is that I dont see any visible results from waxing . I wash the car, dry clean and apply wax...but no result, except the surface is much smoother. GV color is a dark blue (almost black) and I expected some "wet look" surface. I applied wax and polish half of the clean surface and compared at the end, but no any visible or "dramatic" improvement. Is it any way to improve it? I'm realy tired of spending hours on waxing and buffing when there is no results.
    Help will be much appreciated.

    Re: Why no results???

To me its the polish that makes the car look really nice and the wax is there to be a sacrifical layer. I have found great results by using Deep Crystal Polish, Deep Crystal Wet Look (I think it is a polish/wax) followed by either Nxt Gene Wax or Deep Crystal Caruaba wax (I think the spellings wrong).

But your car might be in great shape that no matter what you do its not going to get any better.

Will be watching to see what the pros come up with when they reply to you.

Thanks Trev. You are maybe right...the color is still in good condition but it should get at least some wet look. I was thinking of Color X to apply before wax. There are many products with similar efects and difficult to chose right one. Probably people with "hands-on" experience can give some advice.

        Martin,
I don't think your really going to see any "OH WOW" kind of results on a fairly new vehicle. A favorite combo for me is Meguiar's show car glaze topped with 2 coats of the high tech yellow wax. I use that on both my Focus (red) and Grand Marquis (wine) and use final inspection detailer between washes and waxings. The cars both have a wet look shine which I assume is what you are looking for.
        I've always been crazy...
It keeps me from going insane!

          Re: Why no results???

Well, I dont expect miracles but I want to get this glossy look. As seen some cars after detailing/waxing (old or new) they have this deep/wet/rich colour look. Wax was suppose to do this. I believe that NXT and GC are excelent waxes even for a new cars but secret is probably in proper application and/or combination of cleaners/polishers/waxes.

I would do the paint cleaner step too. Clay bar and if by hand DC1, if you still have Klasse it comes next, then show car glaze, or DC2 , then NXT or another topper. The nxt has the wet look you like.
