No, not at all. Esp. after having polished the chrome very well. This is a great idea for bumpers and other various oparts that won't be seeing any heat.

You can put wax over chrome for protection, although it won't be the most effective thing for that application. The best thing to use for chrome is going to be the NXT Generation All Metal Polysh. It cleans, polishes, and protects all in one step.

        Rick,

Would the Metal Guard product from the Marine line be usable on top of the Nxt Polish. Would it work at all on places that see heat, like exhaust tips?

Well I know you can use it over NXT but I dont know about the heat.
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

Good question Murr. Some time ago, there a post asking this same question, and someone was going to test this product. Seems like Tim (2hotford) was the one who was going to try this product out. I'm anxious to hear the answer and maybe see some results

I wonder who it could have been that asked that question...
And I believe Tim changed jobs or something, so I dont know if he is doing as much playing with Meguiars products as he used to.

Cleaning chrome and then applying a coating of wax will help as any quality wax acts as a barrier-coating and thus acts as an anti-corrosive coating.

As for the Metal Guard, I have some but haven't had the time to play with it even though our Pilot and my Blazer both have chrome wheel. I'm doing some work on the Blazer tomorrow, if I can I'll do some testing with it.

                    Sorry Matt,

I have been away from MOL for quite sometime.

I did try the Metal Guard over both chrome and raw aluminum. The results were OK. The reason I say "OK" is that the coating creates a very "slight" orange peel/ripple look. So while the coating seems to last a long time, the ripple look is too much for my personal preference. But in most cases, it would look great!!!
