The biggest problem is that all tires are different.

Mine are fairly smooth, and when I apply Insane Shine Spray, I just wipe around with an Eagle1 swipe to even it out and if I dont drive right away, all is fine. But it doesnt last as long as it does for some people.

On my parents car, they have lots of ribs, but my dad just does the same technique I use. No slinging, and it lasts a long time.

    So who knows.

I've had good results with Endurance when the car is parked outside overnight (it dries completely). If I try to drive away too soon, some will fling off...

Same here, you do have to let it sit for a couple minutes though.

Part of the problem lies within the prep. Yes, you need to prep your tires for dressing, like you prep your paint.

I use NXT Tire Cleaner along with a nice scrub and warm water to clean my side walls if I'm just removing some dirt. I also use westlys' bleche white (sp?) for a side wall cleaner, and it can turn black letters white, its a great product. I think if you prep and clean your tires your going to find you'll have less sling because theres a more porous surface for the dressing to adhere to.

I use High Edurance Gel on a burgundy/red Mustang (see my avatar). It's never slung off and I do very little buffing but I rub around with the applicator quite a bit.

I have never tried this but if I had a sling problem I would give it a shot. Get an old and thin t-shirt. Drape it over the section of your tire that has a lot of ribbing or slots that could collect some product. Get a nice big brush like one might use to clean a bathtub or swab the deck. Then rub in small back and forth motions over the t-shirt. The bristles of the brush might be able to push part of the shirt down into the little cracks and let it get soaked up. It could work or not.... I've never tried it.

Good luck. Having nice shiny black tires is great!
