  • I just want a tire dressing that won't fling off!

    Morning guys and gals!

I've had a terrible time trying to find a tire dressing that won't fling off. I've tried letting it sit for 24 hours, wiping off excess after I spray or wipe it on. Nothing works! The first time I drive it, I have to go back and clean off all these little black specs all over my truck

I have a white truck, is my search a hopeless one? Is there a product that can give my tires the shine I want and not fling off on my purdy clean white paint?

I've tried ALL of Meguiars tire products(gels and sprays), and a few other brands. Is there any hope for me?

no offense to you offcourse, but i think you just didnt wipe-off enough...

First time i used endurance high gloss tire gel, i had those speck on my car as well. But the second time i wiped of all the excess product with some more dedication and effort and i no longer have the problem you described.

Yeah, your probably right. I just have all these little ribs in my tires. Thousands of them! It's very tough to get that extra out of there.

Is there a certain technique that you guys use? Rub or blot? I know this sounds like a petty issue, but it's very frustrating to get your truck all cleaned up, only to have to do it again after your first trip out.

      Thanks,
      Nick

Have any of you guys tried Hot Shine in the Aerosol can. It works great for me. I have a truck and it's a pain to wipe on products so I stick with an aerosol spray. I let it soak in for a while and off I go. I never had the need to go back and buff some off but I'm sure you could. I picked up 3 bottles of endurance high gloss tire gel a few months back because I got a good deal. I found it to be a pain to put on with an applicator due to all the ribs on my tires.

I know what you mean... its all in the sidewall design. Some tires have very little graphics/design on the sidewall while others have a TON....ribs, letters, all sorts of crazy things.

Rub the Gold Class Endurance on... blot the excess off.

Hot Shine is the only product that I have used on any of our cars that doesn't fling off.

Really? do you blot the hot shine? the specs always appear on my paint after the first ride, even with excessive drying time...

Of the guys that say you don't have a problem with it flinging off, what color is your vehicle? I imagine it would be harder to see the little black specs on a darker color. Mine is white, so I can see every single one of those little buggers!

No, I just spray it on evenly and let the car sit for at least 30 minutes or so before driving it. Hot Shine aerosol seems to dry pretty quick and applies evenly so you don't get a lot of excess.

To date absolutely none of the wipe-on products that I have tried work without flinging off of the tires.

Oh, and I've used Hot Shine on dark and light color cars with similar results.

I noticed that NXT Insane Shine didn't really sling. Haven't used it in a while since I've been unable to find it again in my area, but I at least know it didn't sling near as much as NoTouch sprays.

My Jeep is Atlantic Blue. Its not to bad to show dirt and stuff, but I would see the tire shine.

And has a pleasing smell. But try not to breath it in.
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

                              Hi Guys!

One more hidding place for excess tire dressing to collect is between the bead of the tire where the rim and tire meet. Water and/or tire dressing can build up in that area and unless you get your cloth down between the tire bead and rim edge - all the way around, it will fly out due to centrifical force when you drive....

                              just my .o2 ......
