  • Scratch X application

    Hi

I recently noticed somebody scratched the total distance of my New Tacoma TRD tailgate, the scratches are very light (in the clear coat, won't catch a finger nail) but noticable.

I picked up some Scratch X, but the application technique is vague on the directions. Should I rub it in with force in a circular motion, or lightly streak it on? should I remove it right away or let it dry??

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

How to remove a defect by hand with ScratchX

First, put in on yoru pad, and spread it thinly over a 6"x6" or so area, then really really really work i in with a good amount of passion. It doesnt really matter which way you move your hand, but kind of go across the scratch, not with it. So circular, or back and forth. Once the product seems to have broken down/vanihed, wipe off the surface, check your progress. you may need 3 or so well worked in applications on each area, but that is the price of doing things safely by hand.

      Thanks Murr1525!

The total tailgate scratch is gone, like new , there was a smaller scratch on my driver door that I had my doubts it would work, did not completely, but somehow lightened it enough not to be a concern.

For light scratches, clear coat.. I can highly recommend scratch X, in my case money well spent
