  • 04 Jeep Exterior Trim Help

You guys are going to love this one. I just took on an 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee for an exterior detail only. Here is why it needs detailing.

A local diesel truck was coming down the street and the turbo blew out spitting oil out of the smokestacks and covering litrerally 40 cars. Some worse than others. Some people called me and I told them to immediately wash to minimize the damages. So some people thought they would wax their plasics on the outside after cleaning so that is the main focus. Being the truck is silver it will clean up no probs.

I have some heavy duty plastic cleaner that takes off wax so I assume motor oil should be easy. A lot of them turned white I assume from the petroleum base of the oil.

Anybody ever have this off the wall experience? If so what did you use. Thank you.

I had something similar happen to me a few years back. Sitting at a stop light, a diesel Dodge Ram nailed the gas and it blew oil onto the side of my car. I got to a local car wash and sprayed it off with the pressure washer, washed it normally when I got home and I used some APC on the area that got the brunt of it, followed with a wax and everything was fine.

Was it your plastics? I have something similar to #39 I believe. It is a trim cleaner

I have a regular client w/the same problem. I use MEG'S#39 or 40 then do all the plastic trim w/ MEG'S trim detailer which is liquid or aerosol. I've only used the liquid but when applied 2x's your clients will be yours for life.
