Anyone have any tips for cleaning my tips?

They have gotten sorta sooty and generally dirty even though I wash they, chrome tips by the way.

Forgot to add, I'd edit but it won't let me. Should I try out the All Metal Polish, would clay be effective at removing soot buildup, and what should I use to otherwise "scrub" these back into shape?

All Metal Polysh would be your best bet from the consumer line.

I discovered over the weekend that #83 DACP works great on metals! It has the right amount of diminishing abrasives to clean the metal to a great shine.

i got chrome exhaust as well and i find that if i regularly keep it clean its much easier.

but other than that i use a MF to scrub it clean and some polish. even little coat of wax.

Yes, absolutely use Nxt Metal Polish on them.

I use it on my aluminum tips/mufflers, and also clean them gently with the Multi-Piece wheel cleaner when doing my wheels.

Steel wool can also be used to clean off exhaust tips followed by a good polish like NXT Metal Polysh. The polishes don't seem to get the caked on contaminants off but the steel wool makes quick work of that stuff. SOS/Brillo pads work well.

Well I just clayed each tip for about 15 minutes and got most, but not all of the soot off the rolled lips. Guess I will try and find some NXT Metal Polish.

M83 gave me an idea. Some M80 and a bit of vigorous scrubbing did the trick!

I have Meguiar's Gold Class all metal polish. I apply it onto the chrome exhaust tips of my 2006 Mustang with an soft toothbrush, working it onto the surface, then buff off the residue with an older microfivber towel that I have. Staying on top of them and keeping them clean is the best thing you can do to keep them looking good!

The durability of the Metal Polysh is excellent. My exhaust tips don't even get black! A quick wipe with Speed Detailer is all that is necessary for maintenance.

Another vote on NXT Metal Polysh.... This stuff rocks!

If you have gotten behind on them it will take sometime to get them back to 'normal'. I let min go when I first bought my truck, I clayed and polished over and over to clean them up, now I keep up on them and they look great all the time.
