Just a little confusion

I have purchased NXT, 2.0 swirl remover and Scratch X. I have a black Mustang with some pretty serious dealer installed swirls. I am going to do the car by hand. When I apply the Scratch X should I apply it in straight lines and the same with the 2.0? I am going to list the steps I am going to take.

I find that when I'm applying ScratchX aggressively in small areas to remove defects like bird dropping etchings and isolated deeper scratches, I use a combination of both straight-line motions and circular motions.

For large panels where you're just doing some general paint cleaning, circular motions are easiest to use and maintain uniform, overlapping coverage.

When using a paint cleaner by hand to restore a finish, the most important thing is uniform, even coverage. It's easy to go into the job all excited and filled with anticipation of the gemstone you'll be exposing with a little time and effort. After polishing out a fender or two, and your hands and arms start to slow down, it will become harder to maintain the same level of energy and output with really focusing your attention to the task at hand.

This can lead to a splotchy or uneven finish and is the reason for the popularity of machine polishing. If you find yourself falling into this scenario, try to only work one panel at time. That way you can finish one area, or panel and then come back to the rest of the car later.
