  • Quickdetail before waxing?

    Hi there

I've just been to the first class at Meguiar's It was a real treat, I've learnt quite few things (thanks, Mike ) I've waxed the car but I fear I didn't do too good of a job - I was wiping it off too soon, probably Didn't do the test properly Anyways, I wanna do it again, on my own, but I need to clean up the dust off whatever wax layer I already got there and avoid removing it completely... what kind of quick detailer will you recommend? Is NXT quick detailer good tool to quickly dust exterior of the vehicle without completely destroying the layers of wax? I used NXT tech wax liquid, btw

I did try searching an answer for this question, and it may be obvious, but it's not for me Thanks for any advice, folks

I always use Meguiar's "Quik Detailer" (not in the NXT line though) to dust/clean the car just before I wax...because I spread my detailing over 3 days: Wash/Dry on friday evening, one coat of wax saturday, one coat of wax sunday.

So before each day of waxing, I do the Quik Detail spray, mostly because of the pollen around here. It doesn't remove any previous wax. I also use QD about 2 or 3 times midweek, before I can wash again. QD is GREAT stuff!!

So I've never used the QD in the NXT line you are referring to, but I would really think (and hope!) that it wouldn't remove wax either.

Speed Detailer in NXT has more or less the same properties as the QD only it is more concentrated and some sort of ESP technology

      It doesnt remoce your wax

Just to mention, if it has been several days, driving around a lot, lots of dust/dirt on the car, it is probably best to wash it.

The QD's are for light dust, and I dont know how dirty your car might be, but sometimes it is safer to just re-wash.

And none of the quick detailers, speed detailers, etc, or car wash soaps, are meant to remove any wax.

I do the method mentioned above . . . Wash/dry one day, and then the next day (after the car has sat in the garage overnight), I do a QD before waxing. I've used this approach with Final Inspection, Nxt Speed Detailer, and the good ol' Quik Detailer, all with great results.
