  • Black Audi repainted panel doesn't match in street light-help!

Hi everyone. The door here is OEM paint, while the quarter panel was repainted.

As you can see, in street lamp light, the repainted panel looks different than the oem paint.

Is there anything that I can do to try to blend it or anything? Maybe the OEM paint is just dull from over the years...but a few months ago I did hit it with some #83 and #80, so I'd think it was still in pretty good condition.

    Any ideas? :/

It looks to me that when they repainted the fender they probably sanded it and polished it to make it look nice. After doing this the black is giving off a darker feel to it. Maybe try polishing the door and rewaxing everything to see if it evens it out. Since you did just polish the doors a few months ago it might just be that the clear coat has dulled a bit over the years and you might need to try a more aggressive product ot really bring out the shine on the door. I've heard that Audi has really hard paint so something more aggressive than a DA might be in order.
