  • General PlastX question

I know this is a dumb question, but is PlastX safe on my headlights? Is this the solution to use to make headlights look new? what is this exactly considered, a wax/polish for headlights or what? I am not sure if this is the stuff I need for my headlights and tails.

    thanks

Was this applied by hand or did you use a DA or RB?

do you think it would help my cars headlights? I dont have a pic, but they r pretty darn clear, and its on a well kept, 2003 celica. I am just looking to maximize my shine in all aspects.

If they are already in good shape, you can use a mild paint cleaner and wax as well. Just more of a wipe technique, dont rub them in hard or anything.

Yeah, if you just apply them gently, it'll get the little bit of dirt and then and the protection.

How often do you apply PlastX to your headlights?

                  Murr,

I tried using DC1 then NXT and it didnt remove what I wanted. I dont know how to explain it either. If I bought plastx, and applied it lightly, it would be OK?

Hmm.. if you need a product to really work in, then it would be Plastx.

It didnt sound like you had a whole lot to remove, or is there some light scratches, etc?

I really wish I could explain it to you.

Its almost like a cloudlyness on the exterior of the headlight, only in some spots. Its not the entire headlight, nor is it inside. Theres something on the headlights.

I just dont want plastx to be overkill for what I need and ruin them somehow.

PlastX looks and feels a lot like ColorX, as far as being creamy and smooth.

Are you able to tell if it is maybe not something on them, but any sort of coating coming off?

I would have to say its like a oxidation in some spots. Which is weird, you would think the entire headlight would have oxidation, not just in spots.

Do the pics look similar to what you're experiencing?

This was an experiment for me. I was wondering if a chemical cleaner could remove the haze or was it sun faded, which would require a bit more bite than a chem cleaner. It wasn't sun damage. Not sure what it was. The app pad had a yellow tint after haze removal.

I tried PlastX, Klasse AIO, and Poorboys Pro Polish with MF applicators. All were effective at removing the haze. Klasse AIO seemed to require more elbow grease. PlastX gave great results, but I wanted a cleaner more so than a diminishing abrasive so I used the poorboys product.

I applied Klasse AIO to the headlights for protection. Normally I'd use whatever wax/sealant I used on the paint.

                            Good luck
