Why are zymol products so expensive? How can they charge so much more if their results arent significantly or any better than meguiars?

Don't lump all the Zymol stuff together...their ultra-expensive offerings are quite different from their consumer-level stuff. People whose opinions I respect have high praise for Zymol's Estate Glaze offerings (and conversely, some other people whose opinions I respect don't think they're all that great).
While my knee-jerk reaction was that it's all hype, when somebody I deem reliable does a side-by-side comparison, I pay attention, so I've adapted a more open mind towards their Estate Glazes.
Heh heh, note that most people can't tell #26 from #16 from NXT (or whatever the various LSPs were) in a single-blind test with adjacent panels...Practical Perfectionist

I've tried and still have Zymol Titanium Estate Glaze. Yes its expensive think i paid about £45 ($80ish) 3 years ago. But it goes a long way and i keep it in the fridge. Funnily enough i used it again last week the first time for about 6mths (been just using Megs recently) just really to see if i could notice the difference, these were the results.
Process was:
Meguiars Gold Class Wash
Megs Quik Clay
Zymol HD Cleanse
Zymol Titanium by hand (literally)
I never thought i would be able to tell the difference between different waxes but there is a marked difference in results between say NXT and Titanium. To my eyes NXT is more reflective/brighter, whereas the Zymol has a more even finish not necessarly better just different, difficult to explain but looks smooth if that makes sense.

Hey, I'm glad someone finally mentioned this product on the site.. Here for the past two months I've been using the wax-polish, only because it wipes on and right off, very similar to DC3, but (IMO) it gives more gloss than the DC#3..
Now it can't compare to Nxt, 26, or even 21.. But when you don't have a lot of time, and you want maximum shine.. Its not a bad product... Has anyone tried this product?Wash, Polish, Wax...Just Do IT!

Hi Dee
I have seen the wax-polish (its the only Zymol product you can by in the stores - the rest is mail order). I havent used it but have heard good things about it. The one i used is called an Estate Glaze and is applied with the palm of your hand - sure smells good

I was on the brink of buying some Zymol products until I went to a paint shop, to buy some clay, and they suggested the #80 and #83. I ended up never trying the Zymol stuff. Ive heard a lot of good though.
I must admit.. I use the Zymol leather cleaner and conditioner and I really really like it. IMO it has a very neutral clean smell to it.----------02' 35th Anv. Limited Edition SS----------

The only Zymol product I've used is their cleaner wax. This wax left the slickest finish I have ever felt.
Unfortunately, this slick finish doesn't last long.
After finishing that bottle, I tried NXT after reading much praise about it. NXT doesn't leave such a smooth finish, but lasted longer and seemed to darken my paint, I absolutely loved the effect.

IMO you won't know until/unless you try. No, most people won't notice the difference any more than they'd notice the difference between any other LSPs.
It's like a lot of things- some people discern a difference, some people *convince themselves* they see a non-existent difference, and some people just don't see a difference.
But again, some people who know their stuff and have lots of products on the shelf use the Estate Glazes (the over $100 ones) on some cars because they don't believe they can duplicate the result with anything else. If they could get the same result with one of their other, easier-to-use LSPs they'd do it that way. They don't use the Zymol on daily drivers and wouldn't suggest it to their customers; it's a special situation product.
On a less-than-flawless finish and normal mass-produced-car paint I'd say nobody will see it. On a flawless $50K paintjob, maybe you would, especially if you layered many applications on there under the properly controlled conditions (which sound like a hassle to me). Not something that's gonna be relevent to most people, I suppose.
BTW, the Zymol cleaner wax is supposedly made by Turtle Wax. Utterly unrelated to their hand-mixed products that cost an arm and a leg.Practical Perfectionist
