  • is body scrub more aggresive than deep crystal #1??

Well guys I got the car thoroughly washed today and clayed...
I tried using scratch X and it worked great for removing scratches but didn't seem to be aggressive enough to remove the swirls I have??

The way I used it was just like I would use sandpaper, in a back and forth motion until almost gone and then wipe off...

so to my question, I tried the deep crystal paint cleaner I have only this time with a terry bonnet (its a 10" oribtal buffer from wal mart)
    It still wasnt' aggressive enough..
Getting down and looking at the paint closely the swirls really aren't deep, I'm sure DACP with a PC would get them out only I can't afford one right now...

    SO
Is the body scrub paint cleaner more aggresive than deep crystal #1???
Can I use it with my orbital?
This is the only other meguiars product I can aquire locally...

    Hi 99GrandTouring,

Clear Coat Body Scrub Paint Cleaner is more aggressive than Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner.

However, ScratchX isn't formulated to work by machine. It tends to get gummy when it becomes hot.

That said, I have tried it numerous times by machine and sometimes it gets gummy and sometimes it doesn't. Since the orbital buffer you are using is slower in speed then the PC's common to discussion forum threads, I would say give it a shot.

Only do a small section to test it at first. Then after buffing it in, wipe it off using your best microfiber polishing cloth.

Then, post back here what you found out.

Well I'm kind of stepping out on a limb here when I post to a public forum recommend that you try the ScratchX with a machine.

I did so because I know the polisher you have and I don't think it will generate much heat, therefore I think the ScratchX might work for you in this instance. But did you see how I couched my words?

So test this in one area first.

I would start out with the foam pad first.

Body Scrub and ScratchX are very different products. You could try both by machine and see which one gives you the best results.

This is where it gets complicated because Body Scrub can be used by machine, while ScratchX is for hand use only. By hand, the ScratchX is more aggressive. By machine, I don't know there are too many variables. This is why I recommend to test in two small sections first and inspect your results.

I would test both, then polish and apply wax to the two test areas and then make your decision based upon the final result. After you decide upon a winner, repeat this process to the rest of the car.

I searched everywhere locally for body scrub, couldn't find it, just a month ago I saw a bottle everywhere I went....

I'll order some I guess, I'm a little uneasy about using the scratch X, how much risk is there with using it in this application?

ScratchX is so safe and easy to use. As long as you apply it with a foam applicator pad, you shouldn't get into any trouble whatsoever.

In almost all of my classes, I squeeze some scratchX out onto my hand and invite attendees to g ahead and fell it between their fingers. What they all notice is that the product has more in common with Jergens hand lotion.
