  • My first 5 step system. Tell me what you think.

Hi. I have a new white Scion tC, and I want to maintain looking good, and prevent the finish from deteriorating. My car is not garaged. It's parked under a roof though. My biggest problem is dust. Time is not a problem for me. I would gladly dedicate a Saturday to detailing my car, but I do need something quick to get rid of the dust, which accumulates on a daily basis.

Here's what I'm planning. Please tell me if these products would work well with each other, or if you have a better suggestion for my type of car.

    Wash - Gold Class Shampoo

Clean - Smooth Surface Clay Kit and Deep Crystal PC for DISO and some water spots.

    Polish - Deep Crystal Polish

    Protect- Gold Class Wax Paste

Maintain - Paraffin Wax Duster + Quick Detailer. I'm Also interested in the Quick Wax, but I'm not sure if it would work will with the GC Wax.

    -Thanks

Your process looks fine, I assume you are working by hand?

For some of the DISO, you may want to have a tube of ScratchX on hand for the tougher spots/deeper swirls. DC#1 can remove mild swirls, but have some ScratchX around.

Dust is always hard to deal with. I pretty much just gave up on dust and wash it every week or so.

Quick Wax will work fine with the Gold Class wax. Just remember the spray waxes are for after washing, when you have a good clean surface.

^^^ As above, the process looks good to me, but I would definitely get yourself some ScratchX on hand as well... DC#1 will not remove any swirl marks that you may have, it will simply mask them... ScratchX on the other hand will be able to remove swirls but may need three or four repeat applications...

Only use the Quick Detailer if its a very light covering of dust, any more and I find its just best to wash the car, as I fear marring the paint if there's too much dust there using a QD spray.

That is a great start. Everyone above has you covered with the rest. One additional thing I see is that a white car does not really need the polish to shine. The Gold Class has plenty of oils in it. You could skip the DC#2 to save time and just use 2 coats of GC paste instead. Just a thought.
