  • Scratches on ATV's

I'm considering the purchase of an ATV. (I can't spend all of my time polishing stuff. ) The ATV's that I have looked at have "tough plastic bodywork". However, this body work sure scratches easily. Can these scratches be buffed out or do you just ride the darned thing and hose it off twice a year.

Another option would be to buy an ATV with camo finish. The camo appears appears to be pretty tough stuff.

I actually use Meguiar's cleaner/wax on my John Deere tractor. I know that's not normal behavior, but then I have never claimed that I am normal.

not much you can do but keep them clean. I used to wax the frame and whatever else wasnt too scratched up.
If you dont play you CANT win!

      Hi Tom,

I've tried buffing this type of plastic out before but to no avail...

      sorry...

From what I have seen on ATVs the color is all the way through the panel. The only way I could imagine getting some scratches out would beto sand them out! and them buff them to a nice finnish!

I waxed my fathers John Deere also. It helps keep it clean imo. Plus he's not one to keep stuff clean so i handle that for him
