I waxed my dad's car yesterday. Today when I looked at it in the sunlight it looked greasy and streaky, so I just washed it with NXT car wash and the streaks are still there. Any thoughts on how to remove this?

Well, there are two more straightforward possibilities:

    1. You may have applied to thickly. This can lead to streaks.

    2. Did you do prep work to the paint, such as claying/cleaning/polishing, or at least a cleaner/wax? Un-prepped paint can also streak.

As far as removing the streaks, you might try a spray wax, or maybe a quick detailer. That might do it. Otherwise, just have to let it get dirty and start over.

      Re: Help

It sounds like you might of over applied the product. What you can do to fix this is reapply a dime size worth of wax onto a pad ot cotton terry towel and work it in thoroughly til it becomes a thing film then wipe off while it's still fresh. What this does is reactivtes the old wax and wipes off any excess product easily.

Next time you get a chance to rewax the vehicle try to cut down on product. Use a Nickel size worth of product per panel or try to spread it as far as you can. This ensures a thin coat and makes it easier to wipe off. Also allow the wax to fully dry before you wipe it off. Give it about 20 minutes after you've applied it to the entire vehicle to dry. Picking up some micro fiber towel might also make it easier micro fiber towels pick up faster and easier than any other material.

Using a pH balanced car wash soap like the NXT Generation Wash isn't going to take care of this issue, these washes are designed not to remove wax.

      Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I did not prep the paint. I will give the quick detailer a try.
