  • Can you paint inner fenders? What should I use?

Cleaning the wheels/wheel wells today my front inner fenders (plastic) are a scratches up and have some white marks on them that won't come off...

On the rear fenderwheels I started scrubbing and scrubbing and alot of black grime/grease came off and left the underbody (which is a yellowish color) showing...

I want to black these back out but what should I use?
I saw some "ruberized paint" at the local auto-store, is this good to use or is there another reccomendation?
I'm sure it would have to be a strong paint to hold up to the abuse and such....
    THanks!

You will probably be better off not trying to paint them. The paint will undoubtedly chip off.

Instead, after getting them really clean, try spraying some of the below dressing onto them,

This stuff works great! Suggested Retail is around $5.00 a can, so it's pretty economical too.

      Hey,

On the back wheel wells, did you remove the factory under coating? If so, you may want to have the under coating replaced on the rear wheel wells. That should come form a dealer as store bought under coating in a can is usually not the best quality.

As for the front, I agree with Mike, painting them is not a good idea as it will just peel off as rocks and other debris wear away the paint. It would be better to just coat them with something like the Accent Dressing. I have seen a plastic dye that is used to paint dashes but I have no idea if it would be water resistant or not.

I might have, although it wasn't hard to scrub off at all, just some simple green and light pressure with a brush?

The fronts are plastic I'll try some of that stuff if I can find it around here... Leaving for school soon so can't order anything...
