  • How does Final Touch compare with Quik Detailer?

    Hi,

I enjoy using Quik Detailer on a weekly basis. I own several vehicles and I go through a bottle in no time. I'm contemplating purchasing a 5 gallon container of Last Touch. How does it compare with Quik Detailer. Is it just as easy to apply? Same results?

My two cents. I think Last Touch leaves more slickness and gloss. However it is finickier to use. If you get too much or it's humid, or whatever, it can be hard to buff off. It also can dry a bit too quick and leave a haze, then you need more of it to get that off, etc.

It's not impossible to use or anything, but does have a narrower range in which it provides the results you want. You might try some before committing to 5 gallons, unless you go through QD incredibly quickly.

Everything Aurora mentioned has been my experience. Last Touch is a great product but, from time to time I have a little trouble with and get frustrated then the next time it works great and IMO out of Meguiars detailers leaves the best results! Seems to me its a little easier to use on a freshly waxed surface.

I hope Meguiars "tweaks" the formula a little making it just a little more user friendly. hint hint

I think it would be wise for me to stick with Quik Detailer. I genuinely enjoy applying a QD. With that said, I don't want to use a product that's finnicky to apply and difficult to remove thus complicating my detailing routine.

        Thanks for the advice!

As long as you mist the Last Touch you should be OK. It gives a lot more gloss and slickness than Quik Detailer. As a matter of fact, you may want to save you Quik Detailer spray bottle after you empty it and use it for the Last Touch. It has a nice spray pattern for QDing.

You should also try the NXT Speed Detailer. It is clear, it never streaks or smears even on very warm surfaces. It gives slickness and gloss similar to Last Touch. Also, Last Touch and NXT Speed Detailer provide some protection, while the Quik Detailer does not.

BTW, you can get the Last Touch aerosol version from Meguiars online store. It's about $6 for a can so that way you can try it and see how you like it.

Well, there are plenty of people who use it all the time with no probs, and some who have a lot of probs. You won't know how you like it until you try it, I'd just suggest trying it in something smaller than a 5 gallon sample.

Also, if you have a local supplier, see if they still have any Meg's Final Detail. Looks and gloss like Last Touch, but much easier to use (and it smells better IMO).

And as said, anytime you use up a bottle of Quik Detailer, keep the bottle. They are a great sprayer.
