Please help!! Im desperate!

I just bought my car 4-5 months ago, and it has a lot of swirl marks. i tried everything! i tried using the scratchX on a dewalt buffer, it went away then when i saw my car in the sun, it still had swirl marks where i buffed. But there was a noticeable improvement. I tried using this abrasive polish, and them using a glaze to fill it in, and that never worked. in fact it made it worst. i need my car to like a "show car" because im going to enter it in a show this summer time. can someone please help me!!!! i know i need a buffer of some sort, but i dont know what? i know i need different types of polishes, but what??? i know i need different pads, but what?!?!?! please excuse my long thread, but im desperate.

Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

Like monk said, if you're going be serious about this car hobby and start showing your car at car shows, then you need to know more than Wax-on, wax-off.


You need head knowledge first, and it will be time to go out into the garage and put into practice the things you have learned.

The first link Monk gave you was this one, read it, study and know it inside and you'll have a great foundation to enable you to understand the things we're going to recommend.

Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle


You're going to want to invest in a dual action polisher like Meguiar's G100 and a pad kit and a cleaner/polish like the M80 Speed Glaze and also a quality wax, some microfiber polishing cloths and of course a quality car wash as well as quality washing and drying tool.

It will make no sense at all to learn how to remove swirls only to put them back in again because you're washing system is archaic, or because you take your car to a car wash.

Also, ScratchX works great by hand if you know the correct technique for applying it. Just read this thread....
