  • No NXT after Gold Class?

So I've been reading thru the posts and procedures, and I understand that the Gold Class line is prolly better for my black car. I also understand that the Gold Class wax is carnauba based. (I hope I'm right about this stuff.)

If I use the Gold Class wax, should I avoid the NXT QD and Spray Wax? The reasoning behind this is from reading that the carnauba based stuff is natural and the NXT is synthetic and would interrupt the bond that the carnauba maintained with the paint.

Also, am I correct? IS the Gold Class better for the black, or did I misunderstand?

    Thanks

"Better" is subjective. In quite a few peoples eyes, Gold CLass is better for looks.

You should not use any QD or Quick Wax for 24 hours after applying any way, as it can disrupt it.

As far as a spray wax, I would probably use the regular Spray Wax as it is carnuba based as well, like the Gold CLass.

Just a quick tip to yah. Since you drive a black Scion, and thats a Toyota company, it would be safe to say that its the same paint/clear that is on my Toyota Camry. My experience with this kind of paint is that it is soft and easy to scratch -- but these defects are also easy to fix.

When using a quick detailer (as I did nearly every day last summer), it is a good idea to judge when to wash and when it is OK to quick detail. My constant wiping and removal of pollen that would form on my car every morning created alot of swirls (which I just recently removed using my G100 polisher). Just a tip you might want to keep in mind.

IMHO, NXT is better on black than Gold Class. Gold Class still looks good though. BTW, Gold Class is a synthetic wax also. If you want to use a carnauba, go with #26, which is a carnauba/ synthetic blend.

not sure what you are asking but you can use the NXT speed detailer with DC3 and #26. If i am not mistaken a detailer just removes dust and adds slickness to the paint

I dunno about that-I was topping GC with NXT wax until they reformulated the GC. Now the GC is so excellent, I don't bother with topping with NXT, just a second coat of GC @24 hours later....

                Hey,

I think Murr said it best, what is "better" is very subjective. On black, I personally like #26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax, NXT Tech Wax, or #21 Synthetic Sealant. Any of these look excellent!!

To date I have tried every wax/sealant Meguiar's makes in numerous combinations. The only one I have not tried is #66. What Murr1525 said hits the nail on the head. Every one of the products I have played with looked great. But many had their own characteristics which make them different What "I" think looks good on my paintjob using my technique may be best in my eyes but the not the next persons eyes.

Some are more reflective, glossier, help with depth. Different people look for different things.

My biggest problem is that I can't make up my mind which I prefer. I need to just bite the bullet and wax every panel with a different wax from now on and say the heck with it, I decided on all of them.
