  • Which pad to use

Which pad should be used to remove swirl and light scratches? And the product I should use.

    Hey,

Well, that depends on how bad the swirls are. Do you have some pictures of the marring? Also can you feel any of these marks with your finger nail?

The best advice is start with the least aggressive product/pad combination to get the job done. Therefore, I would start with the following:

W-8006 Polishing Pad and #82 Swirl Free Polish

If that does not do it, then with a clean pad:

W-8006 Polishing Pad and #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish (DACP)

If this does not do it, then you may need someone with experience in using a rotary buffer. For example, Mike just did a detailing clinic with a red Viper that had VERY hard paint, and needed to use a rotary to remove the swirls:

Meguiar's would like to extend a very warm welcome to the members of our online forum! :wavey :wavey :wavey And the class begins! Mike

So, hopefully your paint is not this hard! Try the above suggestions and then let us know how it turns out!

Quick question. What pad is equal to the white pad? Also is there a Meguiar's pad that is equal to the orange pads being sold at Properautocare.com?
