I am going to be repainting my car soon. There are many bubbles in the paint and big chips missing, stuff you can't fix with Megs . I was just wondering, should I get it painted with a clear-coat or just a single stage paint? I personally have liked working on the single stage better, but would it be harder to find someone who is good with single stage paints? Also, is a clear coat more durable than a single stage? If it matters, I will be painting it a blue color, to try and match it to the color I have now. I have a few pictures posted in the Extreme makover of my roof. I am leaning toward a single stage, but I am just worried that it won't last as long as a clear coat. Then again they should both last a long time because I'll be taking care of it, right?

Modern single stage finishes should last a long time, especially with you taking good care of it. It will probably be more susceptible to fading than bc/cc but should be less prone to swirls.

I think it’s more up to personal preference.
