  • One step products

Hi all i was looking at the many products that megs has and the 1 step products has got me confused. I have been using the DC wet-look for some time now with good results but i still have some fading on my left rear panel which i want to get the colour back, a fellow mol pointed me out to a thread in which another mol member that had used "colourX" (in australia it colour boost) now my question is are they the same working product ie polish/wax/protectant/sealant? or if i was to go over to the colourX (colour boost) would i need a seperate polish?

    Thank you

With Meguiar's products, our one-step cleaner/waxes clean, polish and protect. Most cleaner/waxes on the market simply clean and protect because they don't have the legacy of the polishing oils Meguiar's created way back in the early 1900's.

For what you want to do, use a couple of well worked-in applications of the Color Boost, if this don't fix the problem you might want to try ScratchX by itself putting some passion behind your applicator pad.

If neither of these approaches work, then you'll either have to attack it with a machine or it can't be fixed.

M80 or M83 with a Dual Action Polisher, or either of these cleaner/polishes with a rotary should do the trick.

    After that go to wax.

So are you saying mike that both DC wet-look and colourX (colour boost) are vitualy the same in how they work, because i was looking on the packaging for the colour boost and it was saying its just a wax?

P.S. many thanks for the other bit of information, greatly appreciated

I dont think the ColorX bottle really says much about the cleaning/polishing abilities either, but focuses on the wax. But ColorX sure works.

You know, this question of what some of these other products in Australia are compared to their cousins in America comes up from time to time and to be quite frank, I don't have access to any kind of crossover chart. I'll see what I can find out.

No problem, there's a reason why Meguiar's product work so well and as a consequence have so many loyal users for over 100 years, it's always nice to share little tidbits of information as sometimes it's the little things that are the big things...

Thank you so much mike and murr you both have been a great help and so has ALL the others that have helped me along the way

P.S. here the write up of the colour boost and DC wet-look on the aus site, not sure if it helps any

Colour Boost is a one-step cleaner/wax specially formulated for high-production reconditioning. Quickly and safely removes oxidation and blemishes. Restores deep gloss and provides a durable wax finish.

            DC wet-look
Meguiar’s most versatile, one step wax specially formulated to produce eye-dazzling results on all finishes. Rich conditioning oils and legendary gentle cleaning ability make it an excellent choice for daily drivers exposed to the elements. For best results, use our Even-Coat Applicator or Applicator Pad to apply Cleaner Wax and a Microfibre Polishing Cloth or 100% Terry Towelling Cloth for removal.

according to that both are a wax but i was told that the DC wet-look was a polish/wax (and its on tha bottle aswell) and is colour boost just a plain wax or is it like the DC wet-look?

It appears from this that Colour Boost as a pretty aggressive cleaner/wax " ...formulated for high production reconditioning..." sounds Like Meguiars #66.
