  • Just waxed..should polish before or after?

I just recently waxed my truck after claying it with nxt wax. Today I went to a local shop and got #7. And now I want to use it. And so here comes my question. Can using a pure polish remove wax? (which I'm willing to do again) Or should I remove the wax...and how. I know claying removes wax but I already have a just clayed finish. Please help me with better ways of going at this. Thanks

You are going to remove some amount of wax every time you touch your wax. Heck I bet if you just hosed off your vehicle and did a scientific analysis of the water they would find wax in it. Your wax is sacrificial and designed to be that way.

Now for your query, All you need to do is wash, apply the #7 then wax again. You can apply the #7 without covering it with wax but it will go away after the first rain. To keep it's look you need to wax over it.

I waxed 2 days ago. I just applied a coat of #7 about an hour ago and plan to re wax in about 9 hours.

The #7 will remove a very small amount of wax. But likely no more than a simple wash will. So don't sweat removing any wax, Just rewash, go with the #7 then rewax to seal it in.

Now for me, I am skipping the rewashing as I have been hitting my truck pretty hard over the past couple of days and have used a Quick Detailer 2-3 times each day. So I have skipped the re-wash. But I know I am working with a good clean finish. If you have any doubts about how clean your finish is, then yes, rewash.
