I just got my All Season Dressing and Hyper Dressing, and after washing my wife's Explorer today, I decided to try the ASD on the tires and wheel wells. According to the directions, spray and let dry. It was a bit difficult to do evenly with the standard sprayer and bottle, so I used a tire swipe to spread it on the tire. In my effort to put it on evenly, I am sure I put way too much on, since I saw it running a little. I used an old terry cloth towel to even it all out and wipe off excess. It looks good now though. I am going to try to just spray it on the tire swipe and apply next time or a couple squirts from the bottle and use the tire swipe to see how it works. I have just used the "spray on and leave" kinds of dressings before (MSLT, armor all), so these are a little different than I am use to. Anyone have any other tips on applying these? I also got some #38 and Endurance Medium gloss to try out as well in search of different dressings, but these should be easy to apply with a tire swpie I would imagine.

While you certainly can spray these types of products onto the tire, applying them first to some type of swipe, or even a foam applicator pad help to give you good control over product placement as well as helping you to apply an uniform coating.
What I like to do with any tire dressing is to apply it to all the tires and then tackle another project, after allowing the product to penetrate into the tire I'll usually wipe any excess off with a clean towel and then touch-up if needed.
I always have two kinds of towels in my arsenal, tatty towels and good towels, (this applies to microfibers as well), the tatty towels are clean towels that are not worthy for working on paint but plenty good enough for wiping down a tire while the good towels are the trowels that are perfectly fine for paint work.

Hey,
Just to add....
I use a LOT of ASD which is my favorite tire and exterior dressing!!
The key is to apply a fairly heavy coat with a foam applicator. Allow the product to dry at least 5-7 minutes, or even longer. Then come back with a dedicated MF towel, wipe the tire down. You will be left with an awesome sheen, IMO!!!
