  • wax question winter ?

i have a rear qrt and drvs. door clayed etc. topped with 2 coats of nxt but im doing mine in sections due to my job i dont have enough time . now i just wet sanded / polished my rear bumper and rear qrt. (not factory paint ) but i only have time for one coat of nxt then i have to drive it , is it ok to hit it with nxt one coat .then next wash the following week hit it with the other coat . also will 26 or 21 better than nxt for winter salt sand protection

The Firebird Trans Am is capable of laying down twin black streaks of rubber several hundred feet long. We wanted to be sure it could, so we did it a half dozen times in the name of automotive science." - Motor Trend

As long as you seal in your paint with at least one coat, provided you dont wait too lomg to apply next coat, you should be ok. NXT is some pretty durable wax I am told. I use Gold Class, so I cannot say out of experience. If you can get some #16 for winter protection that would be good. It is very hard durable wax.

As far as putting one coat on and then waiting. IMHO, I'd say yes, and I have done this with no issues. You will have adequate protection for that small time period. Just make sure when you gear up to apply the next coat that the surface is good and clean. No brainer there.

For your choice of Waxes or sealants. What color are you working with? I have not tried #26 to see how long it will last yet. If my main goal was simply protection I would likely go with #21 (x2) with a topper of NXT. But that's just my personal prefernce.
